Welcome!
My name is Holley Grooms and you can find our dogs all over the country showing, competing and being great family companions (and on many television commercials, print ads and movie productions). Our website is always a work in progress but please take a look around - we are so proud of each and every one of our dogs and the homes/owners that they have! Most of our puppy homes are repeat buyers (some have as many as 6+ dogs from us!) We have been involved in the breed for over 20 years and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. We have been producing proven Border Collies from some of the best bloodlines from all over the world for many years and love to share and brag about our line of dogs! We are one of the first BCSA's Border Collie Breeder Hall of Fame recipients.
Thank you for checking us out and please feel free to give us a call!
A little about us:
We are Border Collie fanciers as a serious passion and out of utmost love and appreciation of the breed.
Therefore, we are not only extremely selective about breeding dogs, but we are also very selective when it comes to placing dogs.
We are members of our local kennel club and other various clubs to include the Border Collie Society of America.
Occasionally, we will have puppies and adults available for the right homes.
We believe in Border Collies of sound mind and body. Dogs that are built to last and can be successful in the show ring, yet still have the ability and desire to work. Our dogs make excellent companions and versatile competitors. Temperament is paramount.
We have dogs from imported New Zealand, Australian, European show lines and from working lines of Great Britain and the USA.
There are many out there who have very strong opinions on the different types of Border Collies. Please contact us to discuss the REAL differences in ALL the various types, from an unbiased point of view. We love ALL types of Border Collies and believe they ALL have their purposes unless, of course, they are being bred for no purpose at all (such as backyard "breeders", puppy mills, etc who just want to make money selling dogs).
There are breeders breeding specifically for competition sports like agility, herding trial competition,
competitive obedience, etc. There are also those breeding for herding in real farm/agricultural settings. Some might breed for companion/service dog work and some breeding strictly for the conformation show ring. Some breed mostly just for various colors.
Many feel strongly that their reasons for breeding them are THE reason, and all others are wrong.
This is why you may find much conflicting information out there on the internet. Some of the other hateful
things you may find are deep political opinions and feelings against certain registries and organizations.
No registry or organization is perfect, nor is there the perfect breeder nor perfect dog.
Find someone who wants the right dog to fit in with the best possibly
matched home and definitely do your research thoroughly.

Our dogs here at Holther are well known for their good health, temperaments, structure and ability
to compete in pretty much anything that the owner wishes to be successful, especially in AKC events.
We are available to help and support you on your journey at any time.
Our dogs are beautiful, smart, sweet and have an "off" switch (meaning they are not OCD, high maintenance, unable to settle).
They are content and prefer to be in the home with their people, perfectly happy on the sofa,
as well as doing any sort of play, job or competition asked of them. Our puppy owners range from active companion-only homes
to top competitors in multiple dog sports. If you browse through our Honor Roll page or past litters and the individual dogs,
you will see the hundreds of titles and impressive awards and the amazing bonds that our pups
have with their owners.
We have bred and owned farm dogs and herding trial competitors, and have dogs competing in smaller arena trials, but if you're looking for a dog to move large herds of cattle on your ranch or to compete in open level stockdog trials, that is not our focus nor forte.
We are known to be extremely supportive to our puppy-families, holding reunions, being available
and keeping in touch for the life of the dog and beyond. We will also gladly put you in touch with our puppy owners to
ask them any questions you may have if you'd like.

If you are interested in learning more about the breed or possibly a puppy,
adult, or a started/trained dog or youngster, feel free to contact us.
If we don't feel we are the right match for you, we will certainly recommend other breeders
or put you in touch with several rescue/adoption options.
